Chicken Manchurian is a very popular Chinese dish. Chicken manchurian is a gravy in which crispy fried chicken pieces are dipped in sweet and savory sauce and it is served with fried rice or noodles. Chicken Manchurian is very popular in Indian and Pakistani restaurants. Sweet tomato ketchup and soy sauce based gravy make it a strong favorite for both children and grown ups. The recipe that I am sharing today is a Restaurant style chicken manchurian that tastes amazing. The best thing about this Pakistani chicken manchurian is that it is not too sweet, it has the right amount of saltiness from soy sauce and the softening of vinegar to balance the dish. In Pakistani restaurants, chicken manchurian is usually served in a sizzler which keeps the gravy warm and bubbly. Have this chicken manchurian recipe in urdu for ease of everyone.
In a mixing bowl add all the marination spices and coat the chicken with it.
Leave the chicken to marinate for 20 minutes.
After the marination time add corn flour, flour and egg into the chicken, mix well. (you may add few drops of water if required).
Heat the cooking oil on medium flame, deep fry the chicken pieces in it for 9-10 minutes or till the chicken turns crispy from outside. Do not over fill the pan while frying the chicken.
After frying put the chicken pieces on paper towel so that excess oil may absorb.
In another small bowl combine 4 tablespoon of corn flour with 3-4 tablespoon of water, make a slurry by combining it well, keep it aside.
In another pan heat cooking oil on medium flame.
Add chopped garlic in it, fry for few seconds and then add diced onion, capsicum in it, combine well.
Add vinegar, soy sauce, chili sauce and oyster sauce in these vegetables, mix well.
Add in black pepper powder, white pepper powder, chicken cube or chicken powder, salt and sugar, mix these well.
Add white part of of green onion and ketchup, mix these as well.
Now add 2 cups of water and bring it to boil.
Add already prepared corn flour slurry (mixture) in this boiling water slowly while stirring it continuously so that lumps may not form in the sauce. (adjust the thickness of the sauce as per your choice).
At this point adjust the salt and sugar, add more if required.
Finely add fried chicken pieces and toss it well in the sauce so that chicken pieces be well coated in sauce.
Turn off the flame, sprinkle green part of green onion on it. (Sprinkle some sesame seeds as well if you wan to give chicken Manchurian a restaurant style look).
Serve hot with fried rice of your choice.
