  1. Preheat oven to 180 °C for 10 minutes.
  2. Beat the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar to a creamy and smooth.
  3. Then add the eggs one at a time and beat.
  4. Stir in vanilla.
  5. Dissolve baking soda in hot water and add to the batter along with salt.
  6. Sift the flour and add to the wet ingredients along with chocolate chips, and walnuts. Stir the mixture gently.
  7. Take a spoon and add the batter on spoon in a large quantity and drop on non-greased baking sheet with some distance between each cookie.
  8. Bake for about 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until edges are nicely browned. Make sure you BARELY brown these cookies as they get hard as a rock if you cook much past that. Enjoy your easy and delicious homemade chocolate chip cookies.
