PalaK chicken malai kofta (chicken meat balls in spinach gravy) is a simple yet delicious dish of subcontinent of India and Pakistan. Traditionally in India it is made with cottage cheese without using egg and its a total vegetarian recipe, but in Pakistan it took a variation as we make it with chicken mince. Tender chicken meatballs cooked in a spicy spinach gravy is a dish that well worth the effort.

  1. In a frying pan dry roast the gram flour on low flame and keep aside.
  2. Take the chicken mince in a bowl and mix in it ginger garlic paste, salt, roasted gram flour, chili flakes, coriander powder, cumin powder, green chili, onion, chopped fresh coriander and egg.
  3. Cover the bowl and keep the mixture in fridge for 30 minutes.
  4. After the time take the mince out and make meat balls.
  5. In a wok add enough cooking oil for deep frying and heat it on medium flame.
  6. Then one by one add meat balls in it and fry these until golden brown. Take out and keep aside.
  7. Boil the spinach in some water and then blend it to make a fine paste.
  8. In a wok add cooking oil and put it on medium flame.
  9. Add ginger garlic paste and finely chopped onion in it and fry till golden.
  10. Then add green chilies, tomato, salt, turmeric, red chili powder, red chili flakes, cumin powder, coriander and stir together everything.
  11. Add half cup of water and cook for a minute.
  12. Add boiled and blended spinach in the masala and fresh cream, mix well.
  13. Add fried meat balls or kofta in this gravy and combine well.
  14. Cover and steam cook on very low flame for 3-4 minutes and your palak chicken malai kofta is ready to serve.

  16. Aik frying pan mein baisan dal kar halki aanch par bhon lin jab tak is mn sy khushbo anay lagay aur phir utar kar aik traf rakh din.
  17. Ab murghi ka qeema aik bowl mein lin aur us mein adrak lhasan ka paste, namak, bhuna hoa baisan, kuti hoi lal mirch, pisa hoa dhanya, pisa hoa zeera, bareek kati piyaz, hara dhanya aur anda dal kar taman cheezon ko achi trah mix kar lin.
  18. Bowl ko dhak kar 30 minute tak is qeemay ko fridge mein rakh din.
  19. 30 minute bad nikal kar koftay bana lin.
  20. Aik karahai mein cooking oil dalain aur darmiyani aanch par achi tarah garam kar lin.
  21. Phir is mn thoray thoray kar k koftay dal kar sunehra honay tak fry kar lin. Nikal kar aik taraf rakh din.
  22. Palak ko thora sa pani dal kar ubal lin aur belnder jug mein dal kar paste bana lin.
  23. Karahi mein cooking oil dal kar darmiyani aanch ar charha din.
  24. Ab is mein lahsan adrak ka paste aur bareek kati piyaz dal kar sunehra honay din.
  25. Phir is mein hari mirchain, tamatar, pisi hoi lal mirch, kuti hoi lal mirch, zeera, aur pisa hoa dhanya dal kar achi trah mila din.
  26. Adha cup pani dal kar aik minute k lye sb paknay din.
  27. Ab ubli aur pisi hoi palak aur malai dal din aur sb kch milalin achi trah.
  28. Ab fry kye hoye koftay dal kar mix kar lin.
  29. Karahi ko dhak kar 3-4 minute k lye halki aanch par dam din. Palak chicken malai kofta tayar hay.
