When made correctly with proper marination time and the right amount of ingredients, it will melt in your mouth. This is Bakra Eid special recipe and we use to make it for any dawat or gathering on Eid. There are different types of tawa boti but one thing they have in common is that it is cooked on a tawa or skillet. The taste of food cooked on tawa is different from that of a normal dish.

  1. In a mixing bowl add beef, raw papaya paste, ginger garlic, lemon juice, green chilies and give a good mix to everything. 

  2. Cover the boil and let the beef marinate for at least 30 minutes.

  3. Then add red chili powder, crushed cumin, turmeric, coriander powder, salt, black pepper, garam masala powder, chaat masala, yogurt, cooking oil, chopped fresh coriander and mix everything well.

  4. Cover the bowl again and let the beef marinate now for 6-8 hours or overnight in the refrigerator.

  5. Place a tawa (skillet or griddle) over the stove top and brush it with cooking oil.

  6. Add marinated beef on tawa, cover and cook on low flame for 20-25 minutes so that beef gets completely tender.

  7. Then uncover the tawa and turn the flame to high, cook till the water dries up completely and oil separates. This will tale about 2-3 minutes.

  8. Burn the coal till hot red over the fire, then give the smoke for 2 minutes.

  9. Sprinkle lemon juice and garnish with chopped fresh coriander, beef tawa boti is ready to enjoy.
