Cream sandwich or malai sandwich is the recipe of vegetarian sandwich filled with fresh cooking cream an lots of veggies of your choice. It is an ideal breakfast sandwich recipe which is not only fulfilling but can be prepared in minutes. Usually these types of sandwich are prepared with white bread but you may use different bread as per your choice. Sandwiches are a popular food in the whole friend and especially for those who lived away from their homes. Here I am sharing today a dorm friendly cream veg sandwich recipe that requires no cooking. You may also substitute the cream or malai with mayonnaise or greek yogurt. The cream or yogurt may act as a lubricating agent to keep the finely chopped veggies together in the sandwich filling. So do try this fresh cream sandwich as per twists of your own choice and enjoy a good meal in your dorm.
In a mixing bowl add chopped carrots, cabbage, capsicum, onion, sweet corns and parsley or coriander leaves.
Add cream, pepper powder, chilli flakes and mixed herbs. Combine everything well.
Take the bread slice and spread about 2 tablespoon of this cream vegetable mixture on it.
Cover with another piece of bread slice and press it gently.
Trim off the edges of the sandwich for a complete look. If you wan to keep the sides then do not trim these.
Serve and enjoy the easy veg cream sandwich with tomato sauce.
_______ Tips. I personally like to use white or brown bread slices for this sandwich but you may substitute it with multigrain or wholemeal bread as well.
Choice of vegetables for these sandwiches is totally as per your preference but finely chop the veggies before adding in the cream mixture.
The sandwiches can be served hot or cold but if you want to serve warm use the toasted bread as grilling pan or griddle can not be found in dorms.
