Phalsa or falsa is a fruit of grewia tree which is native of subcontinent of India. This tiny fruit resembles with blue berries. Grewia or falsa helps in lowering blood glucose and improve cholesterol. Like other fruits it protects our heart and provides defense against cancer.

grewia squash or falsa sharbat is a best drink for summers as it beats the heat and provides instant relief to the body.  Falsay ka sharbat is one of the most popular meals in the world as it is simple, delicious and refreshing that's why it is enjoyed by millions daily. Today I am sharing a make and store recipe of falsa juice, prepare this falsa squash and instantly enjoy the glass of tangy and flavorful falsa sharbat at home easily.

  1. Put a pan on medium flame, add a cup of water in it, cook it on medium flame till the water starts to boil.

  2. When the falsa mixture starts to boil add salt in it.

  3. Cover the pan, turn the flame to lowest point and let the falsa cook on this flame for 10 minutes.

  4. Mean while prepare the syrup for falsa sharbat, in another pan add sugar and 500 ml water.

  5. Let the sugar melt and cook till the sugar mixture starts to boil.

  6. When the syrup starts to boil turn its flame to the lowest point and let the syrup cook for 5 minutes.

  7. After 5 minutes turn off the flame under syrup, we do not need any string consistency for this syrup.

  8. After 10 minutes take the lid off and you will see falsa is well cooked and softened.Turn off the flame.

  9. Add the falsa into a blender jug and grind well to make a paste. You may add some more water if required for grinding.

  10. Strain the pulp well through a strainer into the sugar syrup.

  11. Turn on the flame on medium, cook the falsa pulp and sugar syrup till the mixture starts to boil.

  12. Add black salt and lemon juice in the sharbat, cook it for 7-10 minutes in medium flame.

  13. After the time turn off the flame and let the sharbat come to the room temperature.

  14. Make and store falsa sharbat or phalsa juice is ready. Store it in any clean and dried air tight jar. This will remain good for up to 6 months.


  15. _________Note: If you want to store it for 1-2 years add 1/4 teaspoon of sodium benzoate in the sharbat.

  16. If you want to give it a red color like commercial falsa sharbat add 1/4 teaspoon of red food color in it.
