You have probably tried a trifle before but have you ever made a domed trifle cake? This trifle cake or upside down kiwi cake is such a fun, unique and delicious dessert to make! I made this cold cake with basic sponge cake, fluffy whipped cream with cream cheese and fruit cocktail. You may use fresh fruit instead in replacement of fruit cocktail. It’s a show-stopping upside down kiwi cake that’s perfect for any special occasion. Its a no bake kiwi cake and I am sure you will fall in love with it after trying it once.
Add the chilled whipping cream in a bowl and beat it till soft peaks form.
Then add cream cheese and beat till the stiff peaks form.
Prepare a bowl for assembling the cake. I used 7x7 inch (18x18 cm) of bowl for this recipe. Cover the inside of the bowl with a plastic wrap.
Arrange the slices of kiwi in the bottom and alongside the bowl.
Spread a generous amount of cream cheese frosting over the kiwi slices sealing the kiwi slices in place.
Add a layer of sponge cake over the cream, then add half of the fruit cocktail over the cake.
Repeat this process until the bowl is filled. Finish the top with cream cheese frosting.
Cover the top of the bowl with plastic wrap, refrigerate it for 4 hours or leave it to set overnight.
When ready to serve, place a plate on the opening of bowl, and gently turn the bowl over. Remove the plastic wrap.
Slice this domed kiwi cake and serve.
