Mug cake is a single serving cake that you cook in a mug, ramekin or mason jar in a microwave.
While dinning hall's meal are convenient and offer a lot of options, sometimes it is closed for you as you missed the time in your studies. Or you are craving for something specific that is not available in the dining hall. This recipe of microwave chocolate lava cake is one of those recipes that you can make without leaving the comfort of your dorm room. In those late night cravings when you are dying for something sweet and candy cannot satisfy it, this dorm room chocolate lava mug cake recipe will satisfy your cravings. The only equipment you will need for this recipe is a microwave and your typical dorm room dishes (spoon, mug, bowl etc.)
In a bowl add all purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, cocoa powder and salt. Mix well.
Now add cooking oil and milk and combine well.
Transfer this cake mixture to a microwave safe mug/ramekin or mason jar, add chocolate truffle or chocolate chips in the middle of the batter.
Put it in the microwave for about 1 minute to 1 minute 20 seconds. The timing may vary depending on the power of your microwave. Check the cake after 60 seconds, the top should still be sticky but fully set.
Top with powdered sugar, whip cream, scoop of ice cream, caramel sauce, chocolate chips or any other your favorite topping.
